while saying prayers in the traditional melody used there, and in the manner in which the Tsoglang (standing debate) is held. Likewise, the Uma Semkye class holds their prayer meeting using the distinctive melodious prayers said in the Loseling assembly hall. As such, the monks should consult experienced elder monks and prepare well for prayer meetings. During the actual prayer meeting, the monks have Tsoglang sessions during lunchtime and a group debate session in the evening. Pharchin Semkye class prayer is held on the common assembly hall’s courtyard of both Drepung colleges. According to the elders, the events are carried on unchanged as they have been done in Tibet. A different activity done during this prayer meeting is that, during the debate sessions, the class leaders have to take on the responsibility of the Disciplinarian and the second on the list of the class register acts as Lama Zhunglenpa, third student acts as Chant Master, fourth as Chamberlain. The monks who take on these responsibilities are supervised by their teachers, who also correct them whenever needed.
